Iceberg Lettuce

Iceberg Lettuce is considered to be a delicate vegetable due to its low shelf life after harvest. If not stored at a temperature between 0-5 Degree Celsius after harvesting, the product will start disintegrating, and eventually gets rotten. It contains water levels as high as 95%. If it’s exposed to a dry atmosphere, the moisture evaporates, leaving the leaves dry and ultimately not fit for consumption. Due to higher levels of moisture, if the product is exposed to higher temperatures during any time of growth or post-harvest, the leaves start to turn brown due to oxidization. There are also higher chances of microbial and insect growth inside the lettuce flower, making it unfit for human consumption.

Our extensive expertise in growing and transporting of iceberg lettuce ensures that all our clients receive high quality fresh product round the year despite the delicacy of the product.
